Trade unions, farmers call for strike on February 12

Central trade unions and farmers’ organizations will participate in a nationwide general strike on February 12th, protesting against what they see as the government's "anti-worker, anti-farmer, and anti-democratic" policies. Representatives from major trade unions, including CITU, AITUC, HMS, and INTUC, demanded the withdrawal of four labor codes, the Electricity (Amendment) Bill, and the Atomic Energy (Amendment) Bill, among other demands. They emphasized that these actions would negatively impact workers and farmers.
