‘People of Bengal embraced SIR as beacon of hope’: BJP's Suvendu writes to Chief Election Commissioner

Suvendu Adhikari, leader of the opposition in West Bengal, urged Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to continue the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls despite a request from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to halt the process. Adhikari accused Banerjee of fabricating grievances and attempting to manipulate the ECI for political gain, while defending the SIR as a necessary step towards ensuring fair elections. He claimed that over 50,000 BLOs and EROs had received training for the revision exercise and that digital platforms were used for clarifications.
