Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Union Agriculture Minister, criticized Congress for spreading misinformation about the recently passed Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill. He stated that the bill is a better scheme than MGNREGA, which had been plagued by corruption, and allocated more funds to it. The government unveiled 184 high-yielding seed varieties to help farmers cope with climate change and improve productivity. ICAR director general M.L. Jat highlighted the importance of breeding programs focused on acid soils, organic farming systems, and regenerative agriculture.
