Chief Minister Siddaramaiah promises swift completion of ongoing irrigation projects in State

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured that ongoing irrigation projects covering 42 lakh hectares of dry land in Karnataka will be completed soon, aiming to increase irrigation and green coverage. He highlighted the state's commitment to utilizing 173 tmcft of water for tail-end lands upon gazette notification from the Union government. The Chief Minister also announced three new irrigation projects for Sindhanur taluk at a cost of ₹176 crore, along with ongoing work on Papayya tunnel and Tungabhadra dam gates to ensure adequate water for Khariff crops. He criticized the Union government's repeal of MGNREGA and introduction of the VB-G RAM G Bill, 2025, calling it detrimental to the welfare of farmers and marginalized communities.
