Kharge Criticizes Modi Government Over Unemployment, Rising Prices

On August 24, 2026, Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress president, criticized the Narendra Modi government over unemployment and rising prices. Citing a NITI Aayog report, he highlighted that 8.7 crore Indians aged 15 to 29 are neither studying nor working, with youth unemployment at 15.6%. He questioned job creation promises and alleged inadequate education and insecure employment conditions. Jairam Ramesh also attacked the government over rising onion prices, claiming they had increased by 76% in Nashik within a month.
