Scientists from Mizoram University and Max Planck Institute described a new snake species, Trachischium lalremsangai, found in Mizoram and Myanmar.

The new species, Trachischium lalremsangai, was named after herpetologist Hmar Tlawmte Lalremsanga. Specimens were collected from Murlen National Park in Mizoram and Haka Township in Myanmar.
