CSIR-NIIST (Thiruvananthapuram) developed the rice and will transfer the technology to TATA Consumer Products Limited and SS Soul Foods (Tamil Nadu). The innovation was recognized with the Tata Transformation Prize 2024 awarded to NIIST director C. Anandharamakrishnan.
