Bihar government spares protesters, won't take action against those who marched by 6:00 PM
After mass protests against alleged NEET paper leaks in Bihar, the Bihar government announced on Monday it will not take punitive or legal action against protesters who participated before 6:00 PM on July 26, 2026. The decision follows warnings from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and demands by its core member Ashutosh Ranka for immediate withdrawal of FIRs and release of detainees. Of the 694 people detained during protests on July 25, 355 remain in custody after verification and release of minors and students. The government also stated it will initiate a legal process to withdraw all FIRs filed against protesters before the specified time and ensure expeditious release of those arrested or detained.
