Hunger striker Sonam Wangchuk ends 26-day fast amid government assurances
After 26 days of hunger striking at Jantar Mantar and later in Medanta Hospital, activist Sonam Wangchuk ended his fast surrounded by union ministers, supporters, and family. Union Minister JP Nadda read out government assurances regarding peaceful protests and educational reforms after which Wangchuk took a sip of soup, expressing gratitude to the government and appealing for peace among protesters.
