Gandhi freed as protests over exam leaks and suicides turn violent, 60 injured
Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi was released after being detained during student-led protests against the education system in New Delhi. The protests, spearheaded by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), demand educational reform and government accountability following medical exam paper leaks linked to 12 student suicides. On Tuesday, police used tear gas and batons to disperse protesters marching towards parliament, injuring over 60 people. Dharmendra Pradhan, education minister, criticized the protests as political exploitation of students. Activist Sonam Wangchuk ended his hunger strike after being moved to a private hospital by court order on Tuesday.
