Delhi High Court Allows Sonam Wangchuk to Transfer from Safdarjung to Medanta
On Tuesday, the Delhi High Court allowed Sonam Wangchuk, a Ladakhi activist on hunger strike for the Cockroach Janta Party over NEET exam paper leaks, to move from Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta. The court noted his need for constant monitoring due to his medical condition outlined in a letter submitted by him expressing anguish over being forcefully sequestered at Safdarjung. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta had no objections but insisted on government consent for the transfer, which came after Wangchuk was forcibly removed from Jantar Mantar and admitted to Safdarjung earlier this week due to health risks.
