Hunger striker Sonam Wangchuk to end fast if leaders promise education issue in Parliament

Sonam Wangchuk, an activist on indefinite hunger strike at Safdarjung Hospital, will end his fast if political leaders meet him and assure that the education accountability issue is raised in Parliament during the Monsoon Session starting July 20. His wife Gitanjali Angmo made this statement on July 19, urging supporters to maintain peace for a proposed march to Parliament. Wangchuk remains stable but requires medical care due to prolonged fasting.
