Hunger-striking activist demands education reform in Parliament
After Delhi Police forcibly hospitalized activist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk at Safdarjung Hospital on Saturday, his wife Gitanjali Angmo announced Sunday that he would end his hunger strike if political leaders met him and assured they would raise the issue of education accountability in Parliament starting July 20. The protest coincides with the Monsoon Session's opening day. Wangchuk continues his fast at the hospital, refusing any medical intervention.
