Congress calls for State-level consultation on December 29 against ‘black law’ on rural employment
The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) is organizing a consultation on December 29th to oppose the BJP-led NDA government's new legislation regarding the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). Kolanukonda Shivaji, APCC vice-president, argues that the new law weakens MGNREGA and threatens rural livelihoods. The consultation will bring together leaders of political parties, public organizations, labor unions, farmers' associations, and democratic groups.
