Students hold vigil for Sonam Wangchuk, demand Education Minister's resignation
A candlelight vigil was held at the B.R. Ambedkar statue on Secretariat Road in solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk, who was hospitalized after a 21-day hunger strike demanding accountability from the Union Education Ministry. Rallying student and youth organizations criticized the Central government for failing to address examination irregularities, including NEET and CUET. They demanded transparency, reforms, and the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Education Minister. SFI State president S. Rajinikanth, DYFI leader Anaganti Venkatesh, and AIDWA leader R. Aruna Jyoti addressed the crowd, calling for dialogue with movement leaders.
