On July 15, Sonam Wangchuk, an environmentalist and member of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), entered day 18 of his indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar, protesting alleged irregularities in the NEET examination. Celebrities including Shabana Azmi and Soni Razdan urged him to end the strike for health reasons while supporting his cause. Wangchuk demands Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation and plans a march to Parliament on July 20.
