In a bid to stake claim on the Trinamool Congress symbol and funds, the Ritabrata Banerjee-led faction held a two-day meeting in Kolkata where they formed state and district committees, nominated new leaders including Jyotipriyo Mullick, Anubrata Mondol, and others. They also planned to commemorate July 21 Martyrs Day near the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Maidan.
