Labour shortage during peak farm season to be addressed by new law: Shivraj Chouhan
Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act, which replaces the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). The new law aims to address labor shortages during peak farm seasons by providing 125 days of work per year for laborers instead of 100 under MGNREGA. Chouhan stated that this will ensure sufficient laborers are available for farming, benefiting both farmers and laborers.
