Students, Congress unite against BJP: 'Where is promised action on women's safety?'

Hundreds of activists, including Congress workers and students from various universities, gathered outside Presidency University in Kolkata to demand justice for the 11-year-old girl who was raped and murdered in Baruipur. They accused the newly formed BJP government of failing to deliver on its promises regarding women's safety and law and order. The protesters called for stringent punishment for sexual offenders and stricter enforcement of existing laws, while also raising concerns about irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and the growing fear among families following a series of violence against women incidents. The demonstration was joined by football enthusiasts who used the ongoing football season as a platform to voice their dissent.
