Protests in Telangana on Dec 27, 28 opposing move to replace MGNREGA with VB-G RAM G: Minister Seethakka
Danasari Anasuya, Telangana's Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister, stated that the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) is crucial for poor families across India. She announced protests in villages against a proposed replacement bill, the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika (Gramin) Mission (VB-G RAM G) Bill, which she believes would undermine the scheme. Anasuya called on newly elected sarpanches and ward members to participate in these protests and sent resolutions opposing the bill to the Centre.
