Local body polls 2025: members take oath in local bodies across Kerala, spotlight on Thiruvananthapuram Corporation
Newly elected members across Kerala took their oaths on Sunday, December 21, 2025. In the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, the BJP emerged victorious with 50 seats and saw its councillors, including Rajeev Chandrasekhar and R. Sreelekha, take the oath. The UDF also won several corporations, including Kannur and Kollam, where Karumalil Udaya Sukumaran and K. Sabarinadhan were sworn in respectively. The swearing-in ceremonies followed SEC guidelines with the most senior member administering the oath to others.
