Ritabrata Banerjee-led Trinamool faction to meet Election Commission
The Election Commission will meet with a delegation of 10 Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLAs, led by Ritabrata Banerjee, on Thursday to address their claim to be the "real" party in West Bengal. The meeting is scheduled for 12 noon at Nirvachan Sadan and follows the rebel group's removal of Mamata Banerjee as chairperson and appointment of new leadership. The Election Commission will determine which faction commands a majority in both organizational and legislative wings to decide which faction gets the party's symbol and recognition.
