
Telangana School Principal Attacked During Protest Over Urdu Classes
Mob violence against a school principal for alleged language policy is a serious threat to education and civil liberties.
Aamir Khan, principal of a school in Telangana, was attacked by right-wing groups who protested against alleged Urdu teaching to non-Muslim students. The incident occurred at the Bharat Chandra High School in Perkit village and resulted in two separate FIRs filed by both parents and right-wing leaders. Armoor Inspector P Satyanarayana stated that investigations are underway, and action will be taken based on evidence. Several minority and teachers' organizations have called for a bandh in Nizamabad to demand protection for school staff.
