
Two BJP-led States question wage burden under VB-G RAM G
Union Rural Development Ministry officials shared information with the National Campaign for People’s Right to Information (NCPRI) regarding the new rural employment program, Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G). At least 13 states have expressed concerns over the increased financial burden on them under the new scheme. Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand specifically requested a reconsideration of the proposed funding pattern, citing inadequate resources to fulfill work commitments. Several states also raised objections to the 60-day blackout period during peak agricultural season, demanding wage and material bill clearance from the Centre.
