New Tungabhadra gates will help address decades-old distress in basin: Telangana CM
A. Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana, inaugurated the modernization of 33 spillway gates at the Tungabhadra reservoir, a project aimed at alleviating water scarcity and migration in the basin across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. The event was attended by D.K. Shivakumar, Karnataka Chief Minister and N. Chandrababu Naidu, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister. Reddy emphasized the importance of coordinated action among the three states to address water needs for farmers and rural communities in the region, calling for a fair and lasting settlement to long-standing inter-State disputes.
