VB-G RAM G Act: Kerala asks Centre to refrain from implementing new law
Pinarayi Vijayan, Kerala Chief Minister, has written to Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister, expressing concerns about the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), or VB-G RAM G Bill. He argues that the new law will negatively impact state finances by reducing the Central share of wages in the rural employment guarantee scheme. Vijayan believes this change undermines the scheme's objectives, particularly its decentralized nature, which he considers crucial for the welfare of the nation and aligns with Mahatma Gandhi's principles.
