Bidadi row: BJP leaders promise land-losing farmers to scrap township project when in power

R. Ashok, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, B.Y. Vijayendra, and other leaders of the BJP visited affected villages in Bidadi to express solidarity with farmers opposing the proposed Bidadi Integrated Township project. The opposition leaders, including S. Suresh Kumar and C.N. Ashwath Narayan, stated that they would scrap the project if their party comes to power in 2028. They criticized the Congress government's land acquisition practices, alleging that the lands were fertile and farmers could not rebuild their lives with compensation offered by the government. The BJP leaders also accused the Congress of using goondas to intimidate farmers resisting the project.
