
Rebel Trinamool Congress MPs announce merger with Nationalist Citizen Party
Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, a Trinamool Congress MP, announced that 20 of her colleagues will merge with the Nationalist Citizen Party. The move follows a meeting with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla where the MPs requested separate seating arrangements and stated their intention to work with the NDA. Before this announcement, Abhishek Banerjee, the Trinamool Congress parliamentary party leader in the Lok Sabha, had urged the Speaker not to recognize any separate factions of the party.
