₹95,962 crore set aside for VB-G RAM G
Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Rural Development Minister, announced an interim allocation of ₹95,692.31 crore for the new rural employment scheme, Vikshit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-GRAM G). This sum does not include the State governments’ share, which will vary depending on their contribution. The combined outlay for the scheme is expected to reach ₹1.25 lakh crore. While 26 States have completed the necessary procedural requirements, four states — Jharkhand, Karnataka, Telangana, and Mizoram — are yet to finalize all formalities. Despite a change in government in West Bengal, the issue of settling pending dues under MGNREGS remains unresolved.
