Trinamool Congress West Bengal MLA Ritabrata Banerjee To NDTV On What Next, "Backstabber" Label
Ritabrata Banerjee, expelled Trinamool Congress MLA, is challenging the recognition of a rebel bloc as the main Opposition party in West Bengal's assembly. Kalyan Banerjee, a senior Trinamool MP and lawyer, filed a petition in the Calcutta High Court contesting the Speaker's decision. Ritabrata Banerjee alleges forged signatures on party documents and claims that the rebellion is a result of a "boss culture" and mistreatment by Abhishek Banerjee, who he credits with bringing him into the Trinamool. He also suggests that former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee should remain as "chief advisor" to the rebel bloc despite her criticism of his actions.
