Trinamool calls off meeting as three-fourths of its MLAs fail to turn up
A scheduled meeting of newly elected Trinamool Congress legislators was called off after nearly three-fourths of the party's MLAs failed to attend. The meeting, convened by Sobhandeb Chatterjee, and likely to be addressed by former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, saw only 20 out of 80 attendees present at Banerjee's residence. Kunal Ghosh, a Trinamool spokesperson, attributed the low turnout to the attack on party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee in Sonarpur and ongoing attacks on party leaders and activists.
