The incident, which saw stones and eggs thrown at Abhishek while he was accompanied by security personnel, has sparked allegations of BJP involvement. Following the attack, Mamata Banerjee accused BJP leaders and a senior police officer of pressuring a hospital to discharge Abhishek, who was later treated at Belle Vue Hospital. The TMC leader alleged that doctors were receiving threats from BJP officials and questioned why her nephew was admitted to the ITU when his condition wasn't serious.
