Disappointment writ large on the face of TDP’s Nellore cadre as Mahanadu goes hybrid

The Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) Nellore district unit, which was set to host the prestigious annual conclave ‘Mahanadu’, has had its plans disrupted by a decision from the party's high command to make it a hybrid meeting from Mangalagiri headquarters. The move, deemed necessary in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s call for austerity measures, came as a disappointment to local leaders and cadre who were initially excited about hosting the event after four decades of the party's formation. Despite preparations for a grand scale event, including 500 acres earmarked for the venue, the decision has dampened enthusiasm. The Nellore district unit is hopeful that they will be given another opportunity to host Mahanadu in 2027.
