Tamil Nadu election 2026: Manamadurai constituency voters seek tangible changes

The Manamadurai Assembly constituency in Sivaganga district, known for its caste-based conflicts and police-inflicted torture incidents, has seen no significant development despite a DMK legislator. The constituency's residents expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of infrastructure improvements, including a new bridge to alleviate traffic congestion, as well as inadequate educational facilities and industrial support. They also highlighted concerns about environmental safety issues related to a private medical waste disposal unit operating on the SIPCOT campus. L. Pandi, coordinator of Social Education for Rural Development (SERD), called for improved public infrastructure and a new bridge over the Vaigai river, while K. Balasubramaniam, former Union Councillor and member of Communist Party of India (Marxist), emphasized the need for industrial development and support for local businesses.
