Abhishek Banerjee, a senior TMC leader, alleged that BJP supporters abused a woman party worker in West Bengal. Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, accused the BJP-led NDA Government of using the proposed amendment to the women’s quota law as a front for the Delimitation Bill. The Income Tax Department conducted searches at the residences and election offices of Debasish Kumar, a senior TMC leader, and associates of former Minister V. Senthilbalaji. The five states will vote on April 23rd and 29th with results announced on May 4th.
