BJP manifesto promises to double the doles by Trinamool government, implement UCC

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its manifesto for the 2026 West Bengal Assembly election, promising to double cash benefits for women and unemployed youth. The manifesto, titled ‘Sankalpa Patra’, was released by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Kolkata. Shah also promised to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) within six months and vowed to address concerns about illegal infiltrators. The BJP's promises include clearing dearness allowance dues for government employees and pensioners, and implementing the Seventh Pay Commission. Shah stated that people are weary of the Trinamool Congress government and want change. The election will be held in two phases on April 23 and April 29.
