Mamata did nothing for Muslims in West Bengal, says Owaisi
Asaduddin Owaisi, president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), launched his campaign for the West Bengal Assembly election with his ally, Humayun Kabir, leader of the Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP). Owaisi accused Mamata Banerjee of neglecting Muslim interests and called for a Muslim leadership in the state. He also announced plans to contest the 2029 Lok Sabha elections alongside Kabir. The alliance aims to consolidate the Muslim vote, exposing alleged ties between the Trinamool Congress and the BJP. The election will be held in two phases on April 23 and 29 with counting scheduled for May 4.
