## Tamil Nadu Government to Focus on Welfare Schemes in Next Five Years Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin announced that the state government will prioritize welfare schemes, particularly for women and children, under its "Dravidian Model 2.0" initiative for the next five years. Stalin highlighted key goals including zero school dropout rates, construction of new houses for the poor, and creation of jobs for unemployed youth. He emphasized the success of the current government in achieving economic growth, citing a 11.9% growth rate that ranks Tamil Nadu among leading states nationally. The Deputy Chief Minister also pointed to existing welfare programs like the Kalaignar Kanavu Illam scheme for housing construction, financial assistance for students, and the Chief Minister Breakfast Scheme for children. He further mentioned initiatives aimed at empowering women through access to transportation and land ownership opportunities.
