Chief Minister promises additional grants for Phase III of Upper Krishna Project

## Karnataka Government Promises Development for North Karnataka Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reiterated his commitment to addressing regional imbalances in the state, particularly focusing on development projects in North Karnataka. He highlighted that his government has been actively working towards this goal and promised additional funding for the third phase of the Upper Krishna Project (UKP). Siddaramaiah also laid the foundation stone for a new medical college and research institute in Bagalkot, emphasizing the importance of healthcare infrastructure in the region. He addressed concerns about land acquisition for UKP, stating that compensation will be disbursed to farmers voluntarily giving up their lands. The Chief Minister also accused the BJP of spreading misinformation regarding funding allocations and development projects, claiming they have not prioritized these initiatives compared to the Congress government's focus on social welfare schemes.
