
Musi Jan Andolan activist under house arrest ahead of Telangana CM’s presentation on river rejuvenation
Syed Bilal, a vocal activist from the Musi Jan Andolan (MJA), was detained at his home in Hyderabad ahead of a planned unveiling of the Musi Riverfront Development project by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The MJA delegation had previously met with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and raised concerns about displacement, exemption from social impact assessment, and contamination of the river. The MJA condemned Bilal's "arbitrary house arrest" as undemocratic and announced they would not attend the event.
