T.N. CM Stalin seeks PM Modi’s intervention to release pending Jal Jeevan Mission funds
M.K. Stalin, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, wrote to Narendra Modi, Prime Minister, requesting immediate intervention for the release of pending funds for the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and approval for pending projects under JJM 2.0. He highlighted that Tamil Nadu has made significant progress in providing safe drinking water, having provided Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) to 90% of its rural households. Stalin requested the Prime Minister's intervention to release the remaining balance of ₹3,112 crore for ongoing JJM works and to support the Hogenekkal Phase-III Combined Water Supply Scheme, which was approved by the Ministry of Jal Shakti. He also requested sanction for 10 new Multi-Village Schemes (MVS) under JJM 2.0. Stalin expressed confidence in continued government support for sustainable drinking water supply in rural Tamil Nadu.
