War of words in council over Attukal Pongala cleanup

During a Thiruvananthapuram Corporation council meeting, LDF councillors protested the city's waste management after the Attukal Pongala festival. They accused the BJP-led civic body of failing to clear waste despite the festival's conclusion, citing images of accumulated garbage near the temple and in a government college. The Mayor, however, defended the Corporation's cleanup efforts, stating that the transfer of health inspectors was routine. Following the heated debate, the LDF councillors staged a protest outside the Mayor's office, demanding accountability for the waste management issues.
