West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee calls for protests on LPG price hike
Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister, called for protests against rising LPG prices and the deletion of women's names from electoral rolls on International Women’s Day. She urged her supporters to wear black dresses in protest and demanded the judiciary include the names of removed voters. Banerjee also criticized the BJP-led government at the Centre and its reliance on N. Chandrababu Naidu, while expressing concern over the sudden resignation of West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose and the appointment of a new governor, R.N. Ravi. She announced that the Banglar Yuva Sathi scheme benefits would be credited to beneficiaries today.
