Youth, student groups criticise Karnataka Budget over jobs, education funding

Student and youth organizations, including the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) and the All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO), criticized the State Budget for 2026-27, arguing it fails to address unemployment among youth and the decline in public education. The organizations highlighted the lack of a comprehensive plan for employment generation and inadequate funding for key social sectors like education and healthcare. They also expressed concerns about the government's focus on "centres of excellence" and start-up driven models in higher education, which they believe may neglect the needs of the majority of students.
