KSIC land row intensifies: Farmers stage protest in Mysuru against stadium plan
Farmers’ Organisations Federation members protested in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office in Mysuru, demanding that the proposed construction of a sports stadium on land belonging to the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC) be scrapped. The protest was led by federation state president Hallikerehundi Bhagyaraj who argued that diverting land associated with the historic Mysore silk industry would be detrimental to farmers and their livelihoods. He urged the government to instead allocate funds for the factory's modernization and protect the site's biodiversity. The protesters warned of intensifying their agitation if the project proceeds.
