Veena George injury: CPI(M) rejects Congress charge that Health Minister feigned injury during KSU protest in Kannur
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] defended Kerala Health Minister Veena George after accusations that she feigned injury during a protest by the Kerala Students Union (KSU). CPI(M) State secretary M V Govindan accused the United Democratic Front (UDF) of orchestrating attacks against Ms. George and using "Goebbelsian tactics" to undermine public trust in Kerala's public health sector. The KPCC president Sunny Joseph countered, claiming the KSU protesters had exercised their right to protest and that the police fabricated charges against them. Security at Congress offices across Kerala has been increased following the incident.
