Kerala ruling front and Opposition close ranks against film ‘The Kerala Story 2’
The Communist Party of India (Marxist)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala have unitedly condemned the upcoming film "The Kerala Story 2," accusing it of promoting a Hindu majoritarian agenda. They believe the film demonizes Muslims as "love jihadists" who convert women to Islam, citing the trailer's depiction of a Hindu woman being force-fed beef by radical Islamists. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan urged caution against the film's divisive messaging, while All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal labelled it a Sangh Parivar propaganda tool. The film's director, Kamakhya Narayan Singh, maintained that it highlights love jihad and forced conversion nationwide, not just in Kerala.
