CPI (M) criticises BJP Govt for giving “cruel burial” to MGNREGA

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party government's new employment scheme, Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), calling it a "big cheating" that dilutes the rights-based framework of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNERGA). The party's general secretary, M.A. Baby, argues that the scheme is not truly right-based and that its implementation will be limited by the central government. He also expressed concerns about the government's reliance on US dictates in trade deals and the erosion of national sovereignty due to market forces.
