LDF, UDF poised to draw battle lines over Sabarimala women’s entry issue

The Supreme Court is hearing petitions challenging the 2018 judgment allowing women of all ages to enter the temple. The Nair Service Society (NSS) general secretary, G. Sukumaran Nair, expressed uncertainty about the government's stance on the issue, while Law Minister P. Rajeeve argued that the UDF was prematurely politicizing the matter ahead of the Assembly polls. M.V. Govindan, CPI(M) State Secretary, stated that the government would uphold the interests of devotees and there is no ground for concern about the issue.
