Eviction notices to families at Yadamane in Sagar taluk, farmers and politicians come in support of affected families

The Forest Department has issued eviction notices to several families in Yadamane village, Sagar taluk, asking them to vacate land they have cultivated for decades. Farmers’ organizations and politicians, including former minister Hartal Halappa and BJP leader Shivanand Kugve, have criticized the government's actions, arguing that the families were forced to move due to the construction of the Linganmakki Dam in 1960s. The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha has vowed to protest against the eviction notices, while Advocate and activist K.P. Sripal noted that some families have already moved out fearing further action. Despite the department's claim of not forcibly evicting them, the families are facing uncertainty about their future.
